Reaper Black Bean Burger

Ingredients
1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained & rinsed
1/3 cup chopped sweet onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
¼ cup thinly chopped bell pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon warm water
1 teaspoon Aardvark Reaper Smoked Hot Sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 slice whole wheat bread, torn into small crumbs
¾ cup unbleached flour, or as needed
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease baking sheet.
Mash black beans in a bowl; add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Mix.
Whisk cornstarch, water, Aardvark Reaper sauce, and salt together in a small separate bowl. Stir cornstarch mixture into black bean mixture.
Mix torn pieces of whole-wheat bread into black bean mixture. Stir flour, ¼ cup at a time, into black bean mixture until the mixture becomes sticky.
Divide mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into burger patties, about 3/4 – in thickness.
Bake in preheated oven until cooked in the center and crisp on the outside, about 10 minutes on each side.
