Sometimes the best meals come from a moment of pure desperation—like when you open your cupboard, find a can of chili, a dusty box of Rice-A-Roni, and think, “This is either going to be terrible…or genius!”

Enter the Retro Chili Wrap: the love child of survival instinct and Taco Tuesday. It’s hearty, cheesy, and endlessly customizable—throw in corn, beans, jalapeños, or even a handful of crushed tortilla chips. And of course, no wrap is truly Armageddon-worthy without serious splooshes of Aardvark Smoky Chipotle Hot Sauce.

Hiding out in the wild? Hunkering down in your living room fortress? Either way, these wraps taste like victory. And if you’ve already polished off the tortillas, all this flavor goes great in a bowl.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4–6 wraps

Ingredients

1 can chili (15–16 oz)
1 box Mexican Rice (like Rice-A-Roni)
1 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup canned corn
1/2 cup canned black beans or pinto beans, drained
1 small onion, diced
Smoky Aardvark Chipotle-Hab Sauce
4–6 large flour tortillas
Optional: sour cream, tortilla chips, sliced jalapeños

Instructions

Cook the Mexican rice according to package directions. (Use chicken broth instead of water if you want bonus flavor.)

Warm up the canned chili in a small pot. Stir in corn, beans, diced onion, and a generous squirt of Secret Aardvark. Keep warm.

Build your wraps: Lay out the tortillas. Spoon in a layer of rice, then chili. Sprinkle with cheese, add optional extras like sour cream, chips, or jalapeños.

Wrap it up: Fold sides in, then roll tight.

Crisp it up (optional but awesome): Heat a dry skillet over medium and toast each wrap seam-side down until golden on the bottom and melty inside.

Serve with extra Aardvark on the side for dipping or drizzling.

Pro Tip: Add a handful of crushed tortilla chips inside each wrap for that surprise “I’m still winning at life” crunch.
