In the Pacific Northwest, hiking and camping are two of our community’s most beloved pastimes. Whether we’re camping at a festival, with our family and friends, or making a solo excursion, there’s something about being out in nature that brings out the best in us.

But let’s be honest. Camping food can be kinda boring.

There are a few reasons for this:

  1. Limited food options: You can only cook with the unperishables you bring in, or whatever you catch/forage
  2. Limited cookware: You’re limited to a campfire or maybe a small propane or charcoal grill
  3. Limited time: You want to be out there enjoying your time camping, not babysitting a risotto over a fire!

That’s one of the reasons we love bringing Secret Aardvark on our camping trips. Obviously, we have some bias (sorry-not-sorry) but we wouldn’t make the stuff if we didn’t think it was awesome. Obviously, they work great to add flavor to almost any dish just by adding it on top, but our Drunken Jerk and Drunken Garlic make especially wonderful marinades for the catch of the day if we do say so ourselves.

Here are a few of our favorite camping recipes from around the web that taste great with some Secret Aardvark:
